This website is based on data that is freely available from public sources. The primary data, the postcode list, is supplied by the Office of National Statistics. Other statistical datasets, such as those from Ordnance Survey, Ofcom, the Land Registry, and Ofsted, are also used. However, these datasets have their restrictions, such as geographic coordinates that do not always match. In most cases, this site uses the ONS coordinates. Other data, such as broadband speeds, can become out of date quickly since it is generally updated only once a year. Additionally, the website does not have access to the official, full address data from the Postcode Address File (PAF) due to its licensing costs and usage restrictions. Therefore, all address-related information is based on other published sources, such as the Land Registry. This is reliable enough for this website's purposes, but it should not be used as a replacement for the PAF or services from Royal Mail's authorized resellers.
